Makes my starter very happy!

I like the flexibility to be able to set the timing of feeding my sourdough and to have it be as healthy as possible. This little "home" is perfect!

Superior service

Not only has the sourdough home significantly improved the bread that we are baking at home, but the customer service from Brod And Taylor has been exceptional. Cannot recommend this company and their products highly enough. You will not be disappointed.

Light broken

Started using this week as we had lost power due to Storm Goretti. Working well apart from one area of the number light has gone out . Set at 24degrees c. Complete number on the four shows up when setting but then one bar on the number four goes out when temp reached. A little disappointing and think I might return item due to price.

JUNK

Doesn’t actually hold the temp, if I want my starter at 76 I need to set it at like 79-80. Cheaply made feels like it break easily.

Love this thing

I couldn't justify the purchase at full price for what it does so I took a chance on a refurbished one. I'm always leery of refurbished items but so far it appears to be working great. I had it plugged in steadily for 3 weeks working with a ginger bug starter. I put a fridge thermometer in it and took readings on the liquid periodically and both matched up with the temperature it was set at. We don't have a heated kitchen and the rest of the house is cool during the day while we're gone so this little "home" is so great when you work with ferments. It only goes to 99 degrees which isn't warm enough for regular yogurt but the super gut yogurt only requires 100 degrees so I'm thinking of trying a quart of that in it even though I can make it in the proofing box.

Kitchen Lab, thank you for your review! The Sourdough Home features a temperature display with only 2 digits, so the highest temperature that can be set in Fahrenheit mode is 99°F. To reach a higher temperature, change the display to Celsius mode. The temperature can be set up to 50°C (equivalent to 122°F). If the temperature set point in °C is above the equivalent of 99°F (37°C or higher) and the display mode is changed from °C to °F, the temperature set point will change to 99°F.
