Ultra-hard, precision ground tungsten carbide sharpening surfaces, like those used in high-precision machine tools, quickly create a more perfect “v” shape and a superior cutting edge. The carbide sharpeners are mounted on patented spring-action bars that adjust automatically to different blade angles. Exactly what I wanted and what was advertized.

Exactly what I wanted and as it was advertized….. I used it to sharpen 3 Japanese and 1 of French kitchen knives. I followed the instructions, exactly!

Not happy.

To be frank, I am very disappointed. My Japanese knives stay much sharper using the "rod" type sharpener that came with them. They seem duller after I use this Brod & Taylor knife sharpener. (Yes, I read and followed the instructions.) I am planning to return it.

You need this.

Put away your whetstone; you will never use it again. The Bod & Taylor sharpener will sharpen your knife quicker and faster than a whetstone with a better edge. On my professional edge sharpness tester, with several strokes, it will register under 100 (Utility razor blade). It will maintain a sharp edge longer without taking off any more metal. This is what you need if you are looking for a tool that will keep your knife sharp.

Jagged edges on my knifes after sharpening

I sharpened my beautiful Damascus chefs knife’s and it left jagged edges on my knives I had to go to my diamond flat sharpener to remove bad edges
